A lifelong fascination for cameras and challenging environments turned into a career. From chasing firefighters into smoking buildings, cycling for weeks in Africa to documenting lichen in the Arctic. There is no task too big or complicated.

Real adventure, real elements.

Every time I get back from a shoot and every single piece of gear is filthy, I feel relieved. Not because I now have a lot of cleaning up to do, but because it means I didn't hold back to get the shots I wanted to.

Out here following and capturing a WFA/ SARTECH II course. A very interesting experience extending my knowledge working with first aid and rescue services.

As wel practising bringing big cameras into challenging environments (it rained like hell the first day 🙃)

Day 3 in Spain 🇪🇸

Made my way back to the mountains to find some shade and ways to cool off. Took the @onakcanoes out for a spin on this beautiful mountain lake.

(But for the drone shots I had to convince 2 strangers to go for a ride since I could do both 🤣 Thanks guys!)

Well, it took quite some digging to find photos of myself for this post 😅

When you’re usually the one behind the camera, that’s what happens. Thousands of photos from every angle imaginable — except one that includes you.
(Being the opposite of a selfie person probably doesn’t help either.)

Looking back at the past year, I’m grateful for the places I’ve been able to work and the people I’ve met along the way.

From remote cycling expeditions to emergency services and everything in between, the goal has always been the same: documenting stories in places that aren’t always easy to reach.

What I enjoy most is that the work rarely stops at operating a camera.
On some projects, that means filming, directing, editing and delivering everything from start to finish. On others, it means helping wherever needed. Driving, planning logistics, fixing bikes, guiding routes, carrying gear or simply making sure things keep moving.

In remote productions, versatility is often just as valuable as technical skill.
The camera may be the reason I’m there, but being useful beyond the creative side is often what makes these projects possible in the first place.
So let’s stay curious, because random knowledge and various skills can always come in handy!

The past year was filled with adventure, and for the first time, it feels like the life I once imagined is slowly becoming reality.
Let’s keep that momentum going. And let’s take the Mitsu somewhere this summer! It’s about time… 😅

My 20th year on this planet was certainly one to remember! Lots of countries, smiles and sketchy situations.

My goal for the future is even more rad adventures! Let’s do this. 💪

Another @velo.adventures edition for the books! 💪

3 days of cycling trough “The Wild Beauty”, aka Montenegro. 🇲🇪 We cycled trough Forrest’s, gravel roads, snow, … and did a lot of climbing! All in preparation for Rwanda, later this year.

Safe to say, it was a pretty successful edition. Everything is wrapped up so tomorrow we can relax and try to find some pelicans @jeroen.leen 🤣

Some of my favourites from roadtripping Japan last year 🇯🇵

I had such a blast, trying to find those “hidden gems”.

Japan is one of those countries that in a way “I thought I knew” before getting there. But of course, there is so much to discover outside of the big cities. I’d love to go back one day, but I already know I’m heading straight back to those desolate mountains 🏔️

At least that’s what it feels like. Inspired by the works of @chrisburkard and @benjaminhardman I took a detour to go and capture some Glacial rivers in Iceland.

Absolutely no regrets. This was incredibly special to witness.

Let’s just say I want to go back as soon as possible 😅

Iceland 🇮🇸 Day 8

We headed back from the Westfjords and got hit by some pretty bad weather. Luckily as it goes in Iceland, the weather can change just as fast as the landscapes you’re driving trough.

We walked alongside the coastline at Snæfellsjökulsþjóðgarður 😅 Beautifully sunny at the Lóndrangar rocks.

Tomorrow we head back to Reykjavik for our final day in Iceland.

Iceland 🇮🇸 Day 7

We continued our trip trough the westfjords. Left in Ísafjörður, passed by some amazing waterfalls (Hæstahjallafoss), frozen rivers and wild coastlines.

We ended up in the midde of nowhere (not so hard in the Westfjords 😅) Hoping to see some northern lights tonight…

Iceland 🇮🇸 Day 6

Today we started our adventure into the Westfjords, one of the most remote areas of Iceland. We left in Blönduós and drove towards Ísafjörður, the biggest town in the Westfjords 😅

Today we left the highlands and started heading towards the “westfjords”. We took a small detour to a nearby fjord (Eyjafjörður) hoping to spot some whales. And we did! (A Humpback whale!🐋) Tough very far away so we didn’t manage to take any great pictures.

We found another great spot to set up camp with lots of stars visible! (Sadly the northern lights are not visible to the naked eye)

Iceland 🇮🇸 Day 4

From Egilsstaðir to Reykjahlíð! Yet again shortly after we left we entered into yet another completely different landscape. Thick white snow as far as the eye could see!

Just before reaching our final stop we passed by some geothermal pools… The intense smell of sulfer luckily doesn’t show in the pictures 😅 (Hverir pools)

Iceland day 3 🇮🇸

Left in Djúpivogur, drove to Egilsstaðir. Passing almost every type of season along the way. From cloudy, rainy all the way to a whiteout and back to cloudy 😅

First time in a while, and with frozen fingers but still… not bad 😉

Today we drove back slightly to catch up on some glacial rivers we missed as well as photograph the glacier from above. It looked closer than it actually was… the drone flew more than 8km out to get these photos 😅

Tomorrow we will be going north along the east coast.

Iceland: day 1 🇮🇸

Wild views everywhere. From big waves, crashing upon sharp mountains at Vikurfjara black sand beach to walking in/ on Europes biggest glacier (Vatnajökull)

Exited to see what tomorrow will bring :)
